How to Have a First Look as a Traditional Bride

Traditional brides tend to use the words elegant, classic, and timeless to describe their wedding day. Where an untraditional bride would use words like modern, trendy, and unique. When I ask my “traditional” brides if they are wanting a first look they answer me with a resounding “no”!

Well, I am here to tell you that you can have your 3 tier wedding cake and eat it too! If you are feeling like you are missing something without having a first look I am here to tell you that you don’t have to be. There are a few ways to have a first look while keeping your groom surprised at the end of the aisle.

THE DADDY’S GIRL

How about sharing that special moment with the very first man in your life? Chances are that your father hasn’t seen what you look like in your dress with your hair and make-up done and, SURPRISE, he has been thinking about this moment for a looooong time too.

THE FAMILY AFFAIR

Why limit the big reveal to just your dad when your mom and grandparents may want to be apart of that moment? If you have a small immediate family then this is a totally achievable scenario.

THE GIRL POWER

Most brides have their bridal party with them as they are getting ready, BUT that doesn’t mean they won’t like you to showcase the full look with them. So pop into a side room or have the bridal party turn around until you have the dress mostly on and then have them all look at once and get ready for jaws to drop!

THE PEEK-A-BOO

Hide around a corner or a door and hold hands or share a prayer with your groom. It’s a great way to share a sweet moment with your future husband and keep the mystery of how you look for later.

Is there another way to have a first look with someone other than you groom that you were thinking of  and I didn’t list it? Leave it in the comments! I love hearing new ideas!
